58% of MPs think that their party should have in their manifesto a commitment to hold a referendum on Britain’s continued membership of the European Union.[1]

 

86% of Conservative MPs think that their party should have in their manifesto a commitment to hold a referendum on Britain’s continued membership of the European Union.[2]

 

27% of Labour MPs think that their party should have in their manifesto a commitment to hold a referendum on Britain’s continued membership of the European Union.[3

[1] 58 out of 100 MPs surveyed said that their next General Election manifesto should have a commitment to hold an EU referendum.
[2] 41 out of 47 Conservative MPs surveyed said that their next General Election manifesto should have a commitment to hold an EU referendum.
[3] 10 out of 39 Labour MPs surveyed said that their next General Election manifesto should have a commitment to hold an EU referendum.
[4] 23 out of 35 MPs from the 2010 intake surveyed said that their party’s next General Election manifesto should have a commitment to hold an EU referendum.

  1. 68% of Corby voters want an EU referendum
  2. 69% of “don’t know” swing voters including those that don’t plan to vote want a referendum.
  3. 57% of Corby voters say it is unlikely that if David Cameron wins the next election that he will hold a referendum on Britain’s membership of the EU.
  4. 53% of Conservative voters in Corby say if there is no “out” option on the ballot paper the referendum should not take place.
  5. 50% of Labour voters say if there is no “out” option the referendum should not take place.
  6. 57% of Liberal Democrat voters would “seriously consider” voting for someone else if their party didn’t offer an in-out referendum.

Comres on behalf of The People’s Pledge carried out the opinion polls in the Prime Ministers seat of Witney and the Doncaster North seat of Ed Miliband. The results are below.
The poll in Witney showed that:

 

  1. 68% of Conservative voters in Witney want a referendum on the EU.
  2. 53% of Conservative voters in Witney think there is no point in a referendum which doesn’t offer In/Out.
  3. 29% of Conservative voters in Witney would seriously consider voting for another party if it offered an EU Referendum.
  4. 47% of voters in David Cameron’s own constituency think it unlikely that he will hold a referendum on the EU if he wins the next General Election.
73% of Ed Miliband’s own Labour voters in Doncaster North want a referendum on the EU

The poll in Doncaster North showed that:
  1. 73% of Labour voters in Doncaster North want a referendum on the EU.
  2. 29% of Labour voters would seriously consider voting for another party if it offered an EU referendum.
  3. 46% of Labour voters think there is no point in a referendum which doesn’t offer In/Out.
