In the wake of David Cameron's promise to hold a referendum on Britain's membership of the EU, the People's Pledge will host its second King's College debate on February 11th. Among the speakers will be: Owen Jones - journalist, The Independent, George Eustice MP - Conservative, Will Straw, associate director IPPR, Baroness Ludford MEP - Liberal Democrat, John Stevens - former Conservative MEP, Dr Gunnar Beck, reader in EU law, SOAS.

Date: 11th Feb 2013
Time: 7pm
Venue: Edmond J Safra Lecture Theatre, King’s College London, Strand, WC2R 2LS
The event will be a wide ranging debate on the advantages and disadvantages of holding an EU referendum, together with the implications of David Cameron's promise for the political parties as we approach next year's European elections and the 2015 general election. We will also look at the possibility for a significant re-negotiation of powers from Brussels back to Westminster.
